Since 1873, Ontario SPCA and Humane Society (Ontario SPCA) has been going the distance for animal welfare. “We're a provincial organization, so we go where the need is,” Alison Cross, senior director of marketing and communications at Ontario SPCA, said. And the need is real, that’s why the animal center has 12 for-life locations, two spay and neuter clinics and a mobile animal wellness unit that travels throughout the province.
Through several initiatives, events and partnerships, Ontario SPCA seeks to stop animal cruelty and promote animal welfare. Animal care is at the core of everything the center does. That’s why, on average, the animal center rescues and finds homes for 7,000 animals each year. In 2018, Ontario SPCA partnered with Petplan to emphasize their mission of advocating for animal emergency preparedness.
