Pumpkin’s limited coverage does not cover endodontic or orthodontic dental services such as caps, crowns, crown amputation, fillings, implants, or root canals.

You can’t predict when your pet will need care, which is why Petplan is always available. Between our app, live chat and agents, you’ll get you the help you need seven days a week.
Pumpkin is only available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. They also don’t offer live chat and you could get stuck waiting for them to respond to your email – time that your pet might not have.

Submitting a claim is a chore with Pumpkin. You have to scan the paperwork, email them and wait.
With Petplan, you can choose your deductible, co-pay and maximum annual payout. This gives you the freedom to customize a price that fits with your budget.
Pumpkin forces you into pricing that works for them. They only give you three deductible choices: $100, $250 and $500.
